Commitment to Our Community
Kingswood is passionate about serving our communities, both as individuals and as a team. We are proud to support the following organizations with financial contributions and the gift of our team members’ time.
A Friend’s House is a 501(c)(3) organization, serving as both a shelter and home to youth in crisis. They work with the Department of Family and Children Services to create a permanency plan for each child, which may include reunification with family or continued foster care services. Over 2,000 youth and children have found respite from abuse, abandonment, or neglect at A Friend’s House since opening our doors in 1998. They truly believe it takes a village to raise a child and are committed to being their village!
Kingswood U.S. is pleased to partner with A Friends House, and is leading the charge in transforming an outdoor courtyard and an indoor lounge space in the girls' dormitory into cool, fun and relaxing areas in which the children can hang out. Kingswood made and matched donations from our advisors, staff, and partners and, together, we were able to:
- Buy computers and remodel the Academic & Visitation Room (left)
- Create a peaceful, calm & gentle "Chill Zone" in which the girls can relax, enjoy games, or take advantage of alone time (center)
- Fence in and create a safe outdoor space for the girls to enjoy (right)

Step by Step Initiative’s mission is to empower individuals one dance, one smile, and one laugh at a time. Implementing change in the community by assisting individuals to find their purpose in life today, tomorrow and forever.
Step by Step Initiative was founded in 2020 by Sirdarius “Deputy B” Benton and his colleagues. As a law enforcement officer in this political climate, he realized the relationship between the community and the law was broken. Using his humor and dance moves, he found a way to #BeTheGap. Deputy B has perfected laughter at otherwise troubling times. These small acts of service offer a moment to smile, laugh and even be inspired to dance.
Kingswood is a proud partner in Step by Step Initiative’s Back-to-School Jamboree, an event that enables giving back to children in need. Our ultimate goal is to prepare students for a successful school year, while eliminating some of the financial stress parents face yearly.
